About Jason Strober
Throughout his career, Jason Strober has shown a remarkable ability to identify business opportunities in the online marketing and technology infrastructure niches. As a graduate student at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Strober collaborated with a classmate to create one of the first remote ad server companies. The company, FocaLink Media Services, Inc., connected web marketers with their target demographics through a system of traffic analytics, custom ad placement, banner ad optimization, and tracking of the return-on-investments for every clickthrough. By hosting data on a remote server, FocaLink provided advertisers a central location to store their advertisements. In addition, the remote server tracked usage patterns across multiple advertisers, allowing for greater understanding of an Internet user's habits. Now commonplace, Jason Strober's technology was considered groundbreaking in the mid-1990s. Strober sold the company in 1999 to CMGI Inc.
Recognizing the power of a network to bring people together, Jason Strober combined his love for games with the Internet in his second company, Treasure Games, Inc. Formed in 2002, Treasure Games provided an open source for third-party game developers and gamers to participate in tournaments with cash prizes. Strober sold the company in 2004, 18 months from its inception.
Jason Strober’s most recent venture also involved Internet marketing. Strober helped develop the ping tree system, which allowed buyers to purchase marketing leads in real-time. Eventually, the company revenue reached $34 million per year before he sold it to fund his fourth project, currently in development.
In addition to a Master of Business Administration, Jason Strober received a BS in Symbiotic Systems with a concentration in Psychology from Stanford University. In his spare time, he enjoys playing strategy games, cooking, and watching movies with his family.
